The time has finally come for this blog to stop. But that isn't a totally bad thing because next year there will be a new class blog.
Please look back through the blog posts to remind you of all the fun and fantastic learning that has happened in room 9 over the past four years.
Check back in February to get the link to the new class blog.
Happy holidays!

Kiwi's reading group making connections

We have been making connections to what we have read. These connections could be to other books, our lives or something we have seen. Making connections helps us understand what we have read because we can make sense of it.

The full sun

Today we went outside to work and to take photos. We saw the sun shining through a tree and thought it would be a good photo. But after we took the photo it sort of looked as if it was night with the full moon out. So we decided to call it the full sun. Also we imagined it was Halloween.

Cyber bullying.

Today the middle and senior school went to see a show acting out cyber bullying. We learned lots of things that we're not meant to do on the Internet. Like going on websites for adults or seeing bad language. Another thing we learned about was that when your texting people might say things that you might think of in a different way. So if someone texted you and gave you a nickname you might take it seriously.

Caleb the pirate

Today for art we drew pictures with Miss White, First we had to draw a picture of someone holding something from memory, like carrying my birth certificate. Next we got to draw Caleb he was dressed as a pirate we thought that, that was easier because we could see what we were drawing in front of us.
Today we had a special visit from Eliotte's cousin Fiona bourke who told us lots about rowing, she was even in the Olympics rowing with her team and there the team that broke their oar. Fiona was disappointed that her team placed 7th but after a while they didn't think it was so bad because they are 7th best in the world. . Fiona started rowing in 2008. Fiona was very lucky to meet lots of other famous people and to get into the Olympic's.
We're very proud of Fiona and her teammates.

Go Fiona!!!!!!!

Jamaica

Today some special visitors came to teach us about Jamaica.
There flag is black, green and gold. There is a river in Jamaica that is called the black river and it is the longest in Jamaica. It's called the black river because of the black dirt on the bottom and it's so strong that people can see it from the top. They greet each other by saying Hullomun. There famous singer is Bob Marley.
