Poetry
Lilly, Ngaio and Sophie have put together this short video to present their poetry. They have adapted it from the Discovery Channel song. Unfortunately the audio isn't great but as you can see the girls had fun making it and they have written some great poetry about our fantastic school.

Water springs trip.
On Wendesday the middle school classes went to the water springs near Pukehangi. We learnt that chlorine can kill bad germs in the water. We also learnt that the water coming from a spring is 100 years old. Then we found out that our water in our taps is better then what you buy at the supermarket. It was great fun.

Hi Rawinia
We hope your leg gets better soon we are all missing you lots.
We have been busy doing lots of learning like - writing narratives, using a ruler to measure in cm and mm, how much water we use each day and the 7 Sacraments.
We guess you won't be doing the crosscountry on Thursday.
Check out Sophie S. and Caitlin T's weekly diary on Friday night.
See you soon , Room 9.

Writing focus
What a fantastic morning we had at the sustainable garden at Hannahs Bay today. Thank you to the parents and the volunteers who helped. I know that the students enjoyed the trip and have learnt a lot.
Over the next three weeks we will focusing on explanation writing, students will be writing to explain something. Click here to see examples and here for the exemplars to see the success criteria.
Our topic for explanation is, "How does a plant grow."
Please talk to your child about their writing and help them develop the language of explanations.
